Aurora Angels is a newly formed seed/early stage angel capital group composed of and run by angel investors and investment professionals. This organized group of angels focuses on nurturing high-growth businesses that are developing innovative products and services in the cleantech (enviornmental, alternate energy), alternate energy (wind, solar, biomass), –advanced materials, and Information technology areas . Our primary geographical focus is on northwestern upper peninsula of Michigan, although we will address outstanding opportunities throughout the state of Michigan and region.
The members of Aurora understand and have shared the entrepreneurial experience and passion of starting with a napkin business plan, focusing the basic vision of a business and building successful companies from that vision and are willing to offer direct aid as mentors to our affiliates.
In addition, Aurora has developed relationships that can directly reduce the business uncertainties of starting a venture. Companies that Aurora invests in have the advantage of access to the comprehensive high-quality, low-cost support services offered by Michigan Tech Smart Zone and affiliated with Michigan Technological University with linkages to the Michigan university system. Aurora views all of its investments as opportunities to share our experience in high-tech entrepreneur with others and also to learn from new entrepreneurs. |
