J. Nisbet Executive
Director, UM Tech Transfer Ken Nisbet
is Executive Director, UM Tech Transfer and has strategic and operational
responsibilities for all technology transfer activities at the University of
Michigan. UM Technology Transfer encompasses satellite offices at the College of
Engineering as well as the central Office of Technology Transfer. Previous to
his current assignment, Ken was Director of New Business Development for UM Tech
Transfer where he was responsible for creating new business start-ups with UM
technology. Prior to
coming to the University of Michigan, Ken had over twenty years of experience in
the commercial sector within engineering, finance, marketing and management
roles at Ford Motor Company, Digital Equipment Corporation and Nortel. Ken was a
co-founder and president of Memorybank, Incorporated, a storage systems provider
and was a director responsible for business start-ups at Trinova's Corporate
Technology Laboratory. Ken holds a
BSME and a MBA, both from the University of Michigan and is active in community
activities, including leadership positions within the Ann Arbor IT Zone, New
Enterprise Forum, Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest and the Washtenaw
Development Corporation. |
